The Model 1873 is widely credited as being “The Gun that Won the West.” This classic model was chambered in the popular handgun calibers of the day and it’s been produced in carbine rifle and musket models. Cowboy Action Shooters love the reliable Model 1873 because it fires the same ammo as their revolver.

This particular model gives cowboy action shooters even more to be excited about as it comes ready-for-competition with extras that improve speed and accuracy on the firing line. The most notable enhancement is the action that has been tuned for speed – as is the Winchester way. Specifically the action has been performance-tuned and modified with a shorter smoother lever stroke to make cycling faster when you're competing against the clock.

Even with the performance-focused extras never forget that this is a genuine Winchester Repeating Arms Model '73 with an oil-finished walnut stock color case hardened carbine strap buttplate and a 20" round barrel with a full-length magazine just like the original. Receiver rear tang is drilled and tapped for optional peep sight (sight not included). If you’re the type of collector or hunter who won’t settle for second best or a copy of a copy fill your hands with this magnificent rifle saddle up and blaze your trail into the sunset.

Model 1873 Competition Carbine High Grade Features

Steel receiver with a color case-hardened finish

Polished blued finish button rifled barrel

Round barrel with barrel band

Performance-tuned short-stroke lever-action

Grade III/IV Walnut stock with a color case hardened carbine buttplate

Top tang is drilled and tapped for optional peep sight

Side plates receiver lever barrel band and buttplate are color case hardened
