The Hornady ELD Match is a .308"" 168-grain component match bullet built for handloaders who assemble their own precision rifle ammunition. Its job is to give you a projectile that flies flat and stays predictable all the way to the target. The Heat Shield tip drives some of the highest ballistic coefficients in its class. Those BCs are measured with Doppler radar and corrected to standard atmospheric conditions so the numbers you load to are numbers you can trust.

That Heat Shield tip defies aerodynamic heating and holds its shape in flight keeping the meplat consistent from the first shot to the last. A conventional polymer tip can soften and deform under sustained heating which nudges the ballistic coefficient and opens up your groups. The ELD Match tip keeps the point sharp and the flight path repeatable and that is exactly what long-range accuracy depends on.

The bullet pairs a streamlined secant ogive with an optimized boattail to cut drag through the full flight window. Highly concentric AMP bullet jackets built with Hornady's Advanced Manufacturing Process hold tight tolerances for extreme bullet and lot consistency. That consistency is what precision reloaders chase when they work up a load for match and long-range shooting. You can load these ELD Match bullets on your own press as a reloading component and Hornady offers the same projectile in factory-loaded Hornady Match ammunition if you want a proven reference point before you start tuning your own .308 handloads.

Product Specifications

Caliber: .30 cal

Bullet diameter: .308""

Bullet weight: 168 grain

Bullet type: jacketed lead with polymer Heat Shield tip (not lead free)

Quantity: 100 bullets per box

Product line: Hornady ELD Match

Item / SKU: HO30506

MFG product : 30506

UPC: 090255305067

Design features: secant ogive optimized boattail concentric AMP jackets radar-verified ballistic coefficients

These are match bullets for reloaders who measure success in group size. Feed them a good powder charge and a barrel that likes them and the 168 grain ELD Match rewards careful bench work with tight repeatable groups at the ranges where a high ballistic coefficient earns its keep. If you handload the .308 for accuracy this Hornady ELD Match bullet has earned a spot in your components box.
